Remembering Analog TV.
All are invited to a special joint meeting between SMPTE
Hollywood and the
Society of Television Engineers on Tuesday, February 17th at the Linwood Dunn
theater,
1313 N. Vine St. Hollywood. 6:30pm Social hour, 7:30pm meeting start.
We will hear from some industry pioneers on their memories of the early days
of television in Los Angeles, see some some of Ralph Sargent's antique

televisions in action, and think about saying goodbye to analog TV broadcast!
Presenters include: John Silva (KTLA), father of the Telecopter. Jim (NBC)
Smith, Don McCroskey (ABC) and Jim Mendrala,
. Also we can gaze into the future and hear some thoughts from Sieg Heep on
where TV distribution might be headed.
And, remembering the world of film, we will see a recent restoration by Warner
Bros.
